The Kiss Cam at LA Kings games captures couples on camera, puts them on the big screen for the stadium to see and then they kiss. It’s a local tradition that fans secretly hope they’ll get to be a part of. On Friday, one of the couples featured was Brad Parr and Andy Evans. Watch the couple along with the cute crowd reaction here.
Per OutSports.com Parr said, “”It was a particularly sweet night since the Kings were playing and beat my hometown Toronto. My parents and siblings live in LA but the rest of my family think I am a terrible traitor for being a Kings fan; I’ve lived in LA for 17 years.”

Born in Austria-Hungary in 1868, writer Norman Douglas was once described as a “pagan to the core” thanks in part to his scandalous gay relationships and devil-may-care attitude. He wrote several works including multiple travel books, the novel South Wind and a naughty book of limericks which personifies Douglas’ penchant for bawdy humor. Douglas died in 1952 in Capri, Italy the place he loved and served as an inspiration for many of his books.
Our Monday meme uses Douglas’ witty words to ponder friendship. And speaking of friends, hop on over to our card gallery to find the perfect card for one of your friends!

On Monday, Jackie Biskupski was sworn as Salt Lake City’s 35th mayor. Biskupski is the second woman and first openly gay mayor of Salt Lake City.

Biskupski defeated two-term mayor Ralph Becker in November, winning 52 percent of the votes. After the ceremony, 500 or so supporters of the new mayor gathered yesterday outside Salt Lake’s City Hall. In her inauguration speech, Biskupski called the victory, “a historic moment for equality that no one should take lightly.”She added, “We have work to do still. We must pursue equality for everyone.” The new mayor said she takes the position with “a spirit of optimism.” Themes touched on in the inauguration speech included, “economic development, air quality, homelessness, crime and investment in the west side,” according to the Salt Lake City Tribune. “As your new mayor,” she said, “I commit to building an inclusive and welcoming city worthy of the unique history and legacy of this place we call home.”
