D.C. Republican Committee Includes Sexual Orientation in Party Platform

Last Thursday, the District of Columbia Republican Committee – which operates much like a state committee, adopted language to its official party platform to include sexual orientation:
“We, the Republicans of the District of Columbia support the belief that all individuals, without regard to sexual orientation, are entitled to full and equal protection under the laws and the Constitution and that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.”
This it he first time a GOP committee has done so. Same sex marriage is legal in D.C.
